New Year = Fresh Start
The Chinese Calendar says 2025 will be The Year of the Snake. It’s predicted to bring opportunities for personal and professional growth. Sounds good to me, how about you? Ready to take advantage of this? I am, and I’m excited for it.
Below is what I am going to focus on to ring the New Year in right and make it a good Year. I hope this helps you gain some insight and tips to help you set yourself up for a good Year too. Follow along or use it as an idea of what can be done and customize the plan to suit your personal needs.
1. Get Your House Ready
Start the year with your house fresh, clean, and organized. When you start the New Year with a clean and organized environment, it sets the tone for a stress-free productive year ahead.
- Declutter
- Deep Clean
- Organize
- Refresh the environment (ex: rearrange furniture, switch around decor, get different throw pillow colors)
- Perform Maintenance Checks
2. Reflect On The Past Year
It’s good to look back and reflect, but don’t dwell that’s not good for your soul. You just need to realize how to approach the New Year coming.
What would you change of the year?
What do you want to do differently for the New Year?
What went well?
What lessons did you learn?
What did you enjoy and want to do again?
What do you want to avoid doing this year?
Reflecting helps you recognize patterns, priorities, and areas to help you stay focused throughout the New Year.
3. Envision Your Ideal New Year
If you could wave a magic wand what would you love to experience or accomplish this year? What do you want to focus on: Health? Relationships? Finances? Personal Growth? Travel? Figure out your goals for the year. Break your goals into manageable tasks, small steps add up. Be Flexible through the year. Aligning your goals with what truly matters leads to a intentional and fulfilling year. Don’t forget to celebrate yourself and your progress no matter how small.
4. Make A Financial Plan For The New Year
Here is my 12-month financial plan based on my goals for the New Year:
- January: Assess & Plan
- February: Focus on my Savings
- March: Tackle down debt
- April: Taxes prep and file
- May: Review Investment to make
- June: Do a mid-year review/make adjustments as needed
- July: Plan for holiday budget/vacation budget
- August: Find a way to increase Income
- September: Review insurance cost/Adjust Emergency Fund
- October: Prepare for Holidays
- November: Review Yearly financial Progress
- December: Reflect and Plan for the upcoming Year
5. Pick One Thing You Want to Improve In Your Life
For me I want to spend less time online and get back into reading more. I miss cuddling up on the couch or bed with my comfy blanket and a good book.
Do you miss doing things you used to do? Do you want to try something new? Want to try a new look, give yourself more me-time and on and on this could go but, you get the idea.
Focus on one thing so not to overwhelm yourself, plus its easier to manage and complete if you focus on a single improvement. Don’t forget you’re worth it, and you deserve the love you give yourself.
6. Be Purposeful Of Your Time Through The New Year
Identify what matters most in your life. Identify time wasters. Focus on one thing at a time, don’t multitask. Protect your time, learn to say No. Create daily routines, break it down into morning, afternoon, evening time blocks to make it simpler. Start each day with a plan. Small changes in daily habits will add up to greater progress and satisfaction.
7. Use Sunday Nights To Prepare Your Week
Make a to-do list your best friend. Use planners, notebooks, or digital tools like Google Calendar or Todoist. A great New Year breaks down to 52 Successful weeks. Each week on Sunday, make your weekly goals, weekly to-do list, weekly meal plan, and prepare everything you need for the week to get everything done.
8. Enjoy The New Year And Make The Most Out Of It
